Windham Weaponry lands state contract

The long tradition of quality firearms coming out of Windham continues with Windham Weaponry, which landed a 60-rifle contract with the State of Maine, specifically for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IF&W).

Windham Weaponry was formed by former Bushmaster Firearms owner, Richard Dyke, and a small group of Maine-based investors, to reassemble a team of employees with over 30 years of experience in the AR rifle industry after Bushmaster relocated to New York last year. More-->

Several local students receive college honors

Two Windham residents have been honored by Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.

Julia Filler, majoring in microbiology (biomedicine), and Christopher Lawson, majoring in financial management, were named to the school's president's list for the fall 2011 semester. The requirement to be named to the president's list is a 4.0 semester grade-point average. More-->

 

Windham Town Council looks inward, moves forward

Here's hoping six councilors can carry Windham

It's hard to know what to feel about the Windham Town Council this week. Most immediately, it's disappointing that, after so much discussion -- from both sides of the table -- and after the process had been postponed for so long, that the council elected not to appoint a councilor to fill its seventh seat. With a choice -- either Carol Waig or Peter Anania, both of whom are former councilors themselves -- the council would have been restored to its proper composition. After finally electing permanent chairs on Jan. 13, it would have given a nice sense that the council's back to business in the new year. More-->

Romney may still win if he stays focused

After the South Carolina primary this last Saturday, there has been speculation that Romney is losing steam. There was a claim that if he won in South Carolina, it would effectively end the primary season -- the three remaining candidates would have probably dropped out of the race, since he would have had a sweep so far. However, there were also claims made since before the new year that Gingrich would win South Carolina for various reasons, including the most recent attacks on Romney. More-->
